Find out if your breath stinks.

The etiquette checker is used to test the quality of your breath and gives you a rating from 1-6. I plan to change the look of the product by creating a female and male version of it which will match its packaging. In addition, I will design its point-of-purchase display which will be a vending machine you would commonly find at a shopping mall. I want to design an 8.5 x 11 magazine ad for both the male and female versions of the product.
I would first like to change the name of the product. I came up with one possible name for it: Breather. In which case, I could use the phrase "take a breather" as a slogan. The female "breather" would feature a pair of red lips as an
icon. I have yet to think of what I could use as an icon for the male "breather." The whole idea of this product is that you don't want to be caught without it. It is useful mostly for the social lifestyle, where you'd find yourself in the position of being around a lot of people. You won't have the worry of wondering if your breath stinks, the device will tell you.
I might also include a small compartment to store a stick of gum as well. Maybe.

Feedback is appreciated :)

  1. ya the look definitely needs a revamp, i wonder what sex will use this more? maybe take that into consideration when you design the shape of it

  2. Still think this looks too much like a pregnancy test, so definitely think about changing the interface layout. A good icon for the male version, maybe a dumbbell or be subtle and shape the whole unit like a screwdriver or other tool.

  3. i betting that females would use this product more. i'm using lips for the female version to associate with mouth/breath but in a positive way. i couldn't think of male symbol to make that association. the dumbbell might work. working out makes you stinky. and if youre stinky, your breath probably is too... right?
